Meanwhile on Planet Nicola...

So it's been a while between blogs and there's really no easy way to start back in...you just have to start.  And of course  it's not even the starting again that counts it's the carrying on.  When the kids say "Sorry!" I say "Don't be sorry, be different" (it's something my Dad used to say to me...used to drive me nuts)

So I'm sorry it's been a while.  And now I will be different :-)

Here's what has been happening since March...

  • Holly Potter started working with me at the studio...she does most viewings, appointment bookings, follow up calls etc and assists with shoots as needed.  She works Wednesdays and Fridays and she's awesome!  I think she kinda needs her own blog post at some point so I'll add that to my list of things to blog about :-)
  • We 'did' the Women's Lifestyle Expo at Claudelands in May and met so many awesome people.  We've been busy photographing them ever since!
  • I have been the facilitator of Venus Cityside group...Venus is a women's busiess networking group and if you are a woman is business you should check it out...fantastic women who inspire me every week
  • I wasn't going to enter the NZIPP/Epson Iris Professional Photography Awards this year but at the last minute I got FOMO and did enter two prints.  They both won silvers in the Landscape category, with one being a silver distinction.  I also had the huge honour of being asked to chair the judging panels for the Student, Illustrative and Portrait categories (and they live streamed it all for the first time ever...nervewracking!)

  • Since ANZAC Day NZIPP photographers have been working hard to create portraits of New Zealand's remaining WWII veterans and I've been very fortunate to be part of this historic project...you can see more here.
  • My daughter turned 15 (how did this happen?!) and we did a special birthday photoshoot...

  • Meanwhile we've been meeting and photographing a succession of lovely individuals, families, babies, couples and the occasional 'fur baby'!
