Family portraits and real family life

When I photograph families I'm always trying to create something that will evoke memories of a point in time...the older I get (haha!) the more I realise that we don't always remember the things that we think we will remember. Those cute things the kids used to say and do...the games they played, the things that cracked them up...they slip away. And what I really want to do is make a lasting record of some of that stuff so that later on you can look back at it together and remember. In the studio it's all about the family and how you interact your own places there's an extra layer. This is a slideshow from a shoot I was lucky enough to do with the Mawdsley family in their beautiful home and in the favourite'll see what I mean...
