Danielle's sister says the first time they went off for a walk together they walked so far apart one of them was in danger of falling in the garden (she only knows this because she was spying on them but I think that's another story!)  Fortunately the early awkwardness is long gone...

Sarnia Park turned on an awesome day for us...love that place even when it's raining but even better in sunshine!

I also love when we get to stay for the reception because then we get to shoot the first dance and some fun stuff in the dark...

Check out Facebook for more pics, including their SUPER cute flowergirl, Piper.

Min's wedding bouquet was created by Florist Ilene.

The boxes on the right contained little gifts for each guest...

I loved the writing in Min's shoes...it reads 'walk the way of love'

Love this vintage bling!

Min got ready at the Lake House B&B which has beautiful light (yay!) and such friendly, thoughtful service...thoroughly recommended!

Every year the Auckland region of NZIPP runs a seminar or workshop called Tonic (as in 'a Tonic for your business').  They always come up with something different and every year that I have gone I have got something out of it that has changed the way I work.

This year the day was split into four separate workshops covering posing models for fashion photography, posing for family groups, studio lighting and natural light/flash use.  The pics above are from the model shooting workshop with Fiona Quinn, which I have to say I found quite challenging...the 'rules' are a bit different from shooting regular people :-)  But at the same time it made me think much more carefully about things like hand position.

To be honest it was hard to justify taking a whole day out from editing, album design and all the other jobs that waiting for me...but I'm glad I did.  It was also very cool to catch up with a few NZIPPers from the Waikato/BOP region that I hadn't seen for a while :-)

They first met when Min was in Middle School, in China.  And the journey to St Andrews Church on River Road was definitely long and winding.  They may have single handedly supported an airline or two with all the travelling they have done, at first on their own and then finally together.

I hardly understood a word of Paul and Min's ceremony (which was mostly in Mandarin) but you couldn't mistake what was going on.  Even in the rehearsal Paul couldn't take his eyes off Min.  They are so right together :-)

I love the spontaneity and fun we were able to capture...

As well as the quiet stillness...

And I have to give a big shout out to Vanessa from Indigo Moon Productions...it was the first time we had worked with her and it was an absolute pleasure.  I can't wait to see the end results of her handiwork!

And there are more pics on Facebook as always.

Check out these beautiful vintage details from Holly and Jason's wedding last weekend...Holly and her Mum have been collecting vintage china forever and so it naturally became part of the theme of the day.  A perfect tying together of generations and traditions.

The candy bar was very popular with everyone, but especially the younger guests.  Not to mention the photographers (to photograph I mean ;-) ).

I have a bit of a thing for the white Crown Lynn swans...so elegant and simple.

And I have to give a huge shout out to Longlands, a wedding venue that was completely new to me.  Manager Leanne was super helpful and thoughtful throughout.  The grounds were immaculate and a photographer's dream.  If you're looking for a venue that is a little bit country with a whole heap of charm you definitely need to check them out!

He says she makes him a better person...

And she was so happy to be married to him she couldn't stop smiling...

The polaroid was Holly's idea...and I was loving the whole vintage-y vibe of their day.

As always there are more on Facebook :-)

I had a heap of fun last Saturday night working as assistant and second shooter for Karyn Flett Photography (aka Photofever) at the N Style Fashion Show.  The show was spectacular with some very lust worthy outfits (and some that I am definitely not up for lol).

I loved the chance to second shoot; knowing Karyn had the 'safe shot' in the bag meant I could prowl around and get some different angles on the action (which I guess is the point of having two photographers, right?)

Models are so awesome to shoot... these girls totally owned the catwalk and while you may scoff and think all they have to do is walk, in the shoes they were wearing that is no mean feat.  And in front of a crowd of people appraising your every move? No thanks :-) The girls are all from Nouveau Management and they were fab...

You can check out heaps more pics in Karyn's gallery

And huge thanks to Karyn for inviting me along :-)
